Now some of you may be thinking that I forgot for however many days I haven’t posted. Thankfully I’m not that forgetful.

However, I did forget 3 days in a row and this really annoyed me. I got quite angry with myself and decided that it was probably best not to do the every day thing because every time I forgot I’d get really angry at myself. Seeing as how I forgot about once every other day that is too much angry for me to handle.

So then I took a little blogging break to calm myself down a bit.

I can’t think of anything else. Just thought I’d explain the lack of blog-ness…

So yesterday I was planning on talking about a book, but I didn’t really have time for that because I only remembered about 5 minutes before midnight. I know it has no real meaning, I just didn’t want another day I forgot chalked up.

So today I will talk about the book I was going to talk about yesterday.

The reason I like it is because if you wanted to use it like you would a regular book it wouldn’t be very good. It’s a collection of shakespeare plays so it’s not really new or interesting to read. It’s really old so it’s falling apart a bit and its to big to fit in your bag.

I like it because it looks like a spell book… It’s about 50cm * 40cm * 20cm i.e. it’s massive. It was published in the 18th century, the cover is battered and weather beaten brown leather. When you look inside the text is faded there are pictures from the plays. It is probably the most beautiful book I have ever seen.

My favourite thing about the book though, is the fact that you can take it out on loan from my university’s library.

Why would one bother getting out this gargantuan book?

To enhance one’s wizard costume of course…

This book makes the perfect prop spell book for any would be wizard. On Monday I’ll try to remember to take a photo of it. So that you can marvel at it’s wizardy-ness.

I only just remembered today.

I want to write about a book in the library but it will take quite a while to explain and I’m pretty tired so I’m going to leave it until tomorrow. Plus seeing as how I’m quite sleepy and it is quite a weird/complicated thing there is no way I would be able to make the idea make sense.

I doubt it will make sense anyway really but I’ll at least give it a chance.

I find it very tricky to communicate a lot of my ideas. I think there are lots of examples of that if you read back. It will never be possible though to tell if it is a particular disadvantage to me or if this is something everyone shares. Unless scientist perfect the brain transplant in the next 60 years or so. Before they could perfect it they would have to invent it admittedly so I don’t really like my chances…

But you never know…

It also occurs to me that if brain transplants where invented then the chances are me getting one are fairly slim… Especially if my reason was to test if I’m bad at comunicating my ideas…

Oh well, looks like I’m just going to have to make do with my own…

I forgot again! I can’t believe that…

I did remember while I was out, but blogging is a distinctly in-home activity…

Oh well…

I guess I’ll write a really long one to make up for it.

I might not though, it depends on whether I can think of something to write.

I can think of some more fogetful stories but they’re not very interesting as a whole story so I’ll just list them, they’ll probably be more interesting that way…

I’ve left my violin on the bus…

Twice.

I once got the depature time of a flight mixed up with the arrival time… Which isn’t really forgetful but is probably the #1 silly/idiotic thing that I’ve ever done.

While getting a ride to school I realised that I had forgotten my shoes…

I’m going to stop listing things because I think my ego is to fragile to take the beating that my memory is inflicting on it…

There is another stick stuck (hehe stick stuck is fun to say…) in my MP3 player. I can still reset it though so I’m not really bothered by it.

I can’t believe I forgot again, that is impressively forgetful. Not your run of the mill forgetful but hardcore forgetful.

I had an exam this morning, I wouldn’t have done very well except:

It was open book

It was multiple-choice

It was easy

We have learnt much harder stuff than the twaddle that was in the exam. The lecturer must really want us to pass…

Not that I’m complaining! Although I am a little bit…

I can’t think of something that I can write about for a long time so I keep jumping from one thing to the other.I’m hoping that if I write a post long enough then my brain will get the idea that it’s going to be doing this a lot and it should get used to it. AND that is should remember to do it… I put an ‘and’ at the start of the sentance there. I don’t like it really, because then people will think that I don’t know that you’re not supposed to have an ‘and’ at the start of a sentance. By writing that last sentance though I have proven that I do that you’re not supposed to have an ‘and’ at the start of a sentance.

Maybe that is another example of my like for semi-anarchy. I don’t think it even deserves the title of semi-anarchy, my form of anarchy is too lame to have that name. Mild-anarchy, that sounds nice…

That reminds me of something someone said in a book I read on the weekend:

“I’m a big believer in random capitalisation. The rules of capitalisation are so unfair to the words in the middle.”

I quite like that… The quote is from Paper Towns by John Green by the way… The person who says that is called Margo Roth Speigelman, which is one hell of a name.

I’m about to go over the 500 word mark.

In fact acording to the little thing down the bottom that sentance took me to exactly 500 words… Which is cool, certainly longer than I normally make these things.

I’m going to end it there…

That’s not very pithy really…

I’m going to end it there anyway so HA!

So yesterday I said that i’d either write about my preferance for semi-anarchy or tell another forgetful story.

I can’t think of any more forgetful stories (trust me that there are loads though…) so I’m going to discuss semi-anarchy.

It’s analogy time… Say that anachy is cordial (or squash depending on where you’re from) most people like a little bit of cordial but not too much. Boring people don’t want any at all and hard core people like to drink it undiluted… I like my anarchy cordial stronger than a lot of people do, but not to an extent that makes me nuts…

Not sure if that makes sense…

I sometimes think of it as a strange case of OCD. Instead of wanting things all neat and tidy I go out of my way to make them a little bit messy…

An example:

Every christmas we have a bowl of candy canes in the entrance to our house. We actually have two flavours of candy cane the traditional mint and the more exotic fruity variety. My mother each christmas puts about 50 of them into the bowl and hooks them onto the edge of the bowl. There is more organisation though, like a teacher would organise the seating in a mis-beahaving class. Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl. I’m not sure whether the boys are the fruity ones or the minty ones but you get the idea. The candy canes alternate in flavor and because they are also differant colours the overal effect is not assethetically dipleasing…

In short there is no reason why someone would wake up early each morning and unhook all the candy canes from the bowl’s rim and jumble the sweets into a messy pile. But that’s what i do…

Why every morning? you might ask.

I do it every morning because during the day my mother puts all of the candy canes in their proper place again. The candy canes are there for about a month… This game is not for posers, endurance is required. I think that my Mum probably got the short end of the stick, because it takes me about 10 seconds to mess up the bowl, whereas to put them all back takes about 5 minutes. 5 minutes isn’t very much, but this game has become a family tradition of sorts. We’ve been playing for atleast 3 years. For one month each year.
5 *30 * 3 = 450 minutes. That’s 7 and a half hours… I was thinking about whether if it was my role in the game to clean them up rather than to make them messy, which would take longer. Would I, like my mother, spend 7 and a half hours organising sweets? Yes, my brain says, probably.

I think that shows my comiment to contained anarchy. I wouldn’t overthrow the government or start a riot but i will mess up you sweets. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT?

Itjaw the really lame rebel…

Well 3 days in and i forgot….

Bugger…

It really was that I just forgot. If you’re reading this then you’d probably find it hard to believe that i’d forget so quickly. I would too if it was someone else, but I am very good at forgetting things…

In primary school I used to lose my gloves. That’s not really true, I used to lose one glove. I’d come home with only one glove my mother would say “Why are you only wearing one glove.” I’d respond with a nervous”Because I can’t find the other one…” I’m not sure how I lost them I just did. How I could keep track of one but not the other. After losing probably dozens of gloves and maintaing a growing pile of sibbling-less gloves my mother decided that the money for new gloves was not worth the week or so that I would manage to hang onto them… So she started sending me to school with mis-matched gloves.

Maybe it was because of my love of semi-anarchy or maybe it was because with two differant gloves it was easier to notice them. I didn’t lose my gloves after that…

I’ll talk about my love for semi-anarchy in a later post… maybe tomorrow if i remember…

Right now I’m going to go have dinner… Chicken… for those of you who were wondering.

Maybe tomorrow I will tell another forgetful story idk…

Today I have done nothing…

I was reminded of one of my favourite simplistic joke:

A school of fish are swimming through some reeds when one of them realises that they aren’t actually swimming through reeds but they’re in the mouth of a predator. The fish says “With friends like these who needs anenemies?

Turns out that anenemy isn’t a word and that they are infact called anemones which is no where near as much fun. Plus it makes one of the jokes in finding nemo and the joke above not really work…

I’m not quite sure about what happened with the whole differant word things… Maybe i’m just spelling it really badly… I hope not because that would be a bit embarrising…

I have noticed that I find it harder to write when I’m listening to music at the same time. This makes sense really because it’s doing more than just writing so it would make it harder. The only problem is is that I don’t like sitting at my laptop and just typing, I like having something going on in the background. The most productive thing to have in the background is music as aposed to a game or something else that is more distracting.

I’ve also noticed that I walk faster when I’m not listening to my mp3 player at the same time… Which is a little weird.

My mp3 player is very nice, when it works… Often when skipping a song it has a complete hissy fit and I have to reset it. Last week to reset it I used a small stick. That stick is now stuck so the only way I can get it to work if it crashes is to plug it into my PC for about an hour. Which is starting to annoy me… I should really just work out a way to get the stick out of the hole. Or I could complain about it and do nothing… I think I’ll probably do that for another week.

Reading that last section back I realised that I really should just go and pull the stick out. So that’s what I’m going to do now…

See you tomorrow…

Well it’s mostly because I normally don’t remember that I have this and when I do I don’t really feel like writing.

This is bad. This is bad because I still think I should blog I just don’t… due to the distracting nature of things. Things, it occurs to me, are very distracting. Don’t worry, this isn’t something that I’ve only just noticed, I have known this for a while now. Don’t get me wrong I like being distracted a lot, I just feel that I spend too much time being distracted.

It is very easy to get distracted while you are blogging. This is because while blogging you are connected to the Internet… The Internet is the king of the distractors. I just realised that I just applied gender to the Internet. I realise that the Internet is neither masculine of feminine. I’m going to stick to king though because in my special world when someone mentions queen I think of HRHQEII (Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth the Second). She isn’t very scary really. Whereas when I think of a king I think of either King Henry VIII or Macbeth. Those two are slightly more scary so I’m going to keep calling the Internet king… That was a bit of an insight in my strange thoughts for you there…

The Internet takes up massive amounts of my time… Blogging is also part of the Internet… Browsing the Internet takes up massive amounts of my time.

To try and increase time spent blogging I’m going to blog everyday. I’m not sure how long I’m going to do this for but it’ll be a while I’m guessing.

Ok, maths time. Currently I have written 73 blog posts. I started blogging in the middle of march 2007. So for 9 and a half months in 2007. Which is 38 weeks. Plus all of 2008 (52 weeks). Plus some of 2009, it’s one week into September so 31 weeks. A grand total of approx. 121 weeks or 847 days. So my blog per day rate is about 0.085. That means that on average I blog about every 11 and a half days. That’s not very good. Sorry for all that maths…

I think that 11 and half days on average is pretty abysmal really… This year, I have written only 3 blogs! That’s pathetic. So over the next god knows how long I am going to post a blog every single day. Not stupid short ones either because then there is no point to it really.

So that’s going to take up a fair amount of my time, but hopefully I’m going to enjoy it… Otherwise I’m just a narsacist.

So I have some serious spare time on my hands so I’m going to try and sting this out for as long as I can with my limited writing ability. YAY!

I read a book recently, can’t remember what it was called it was by Stephen Fry and it had tennis balls in the title, “The stars tennis balls”¸ that’s it. Anyway the reason I mention it is because it had this phrase “thoroughly thought through”. One of the characters thinks that that phrase is cool, and well I agree…

Books are interesting things. I think that there are some things that tell you lots about a person’s personality, like if they write music etc. In some ways books are like that, in fact writing in general, because they can have everything to do with the author’s personality but then sometimes I read people’s writing and I find it very difficult to find the connection between the person I know and the text. I think that’s interesting. But thinking about it writing is one of the more literal forms of art, for the most part anyway. A book can make as much sense as a piece of modern art; I can’t imagine many people who would want to read that book though. But I know many people who are quite content to look at pictures that don’t make any sense. Maybe “don’t make any sense” is a bad way to word what I’m trying to say. Hmmm…

Let’s try this again.

Ok, so if you look at a piece of art, modern art specifically, every single person that looks at it is going to have a slightly different interpretation about what it means, even on the most basic level. Even before you get into symbolism and metaphor you would have to decide what it is literally a painting of. Where as a book it would be very difficult to argue about what happened or the characters or something like that… Or is that just me looking down on art? I’m not a huge fan to be honest. Even the most stunning paintings and sculptures and whatever other artsy thing the most any of them have ever provoked out of me is a “Huh, that’s pretty cool.” Then I’ll forget it and look at the next piece. However I think a book or a poem (not a huge fan of poems either…) or an article or whatever can affect me for ages.

I think it’s the same either on a smaller scale as well. If someone hands me a piece of paper and says “Draw something.” Chances are I’ll draw a smiley face. Does that really say anything about my personality except for maybe showing that I’m not clinically depressed? If someone hands me a piece of paper and says “Write something.” Then I might write my name, or write “hello world” (a programming thing) or whatever but I think that whatever I write is going to say more about me as a person than what I would draw. Is this the same for everyone else? Or is it simply that I don’t really like drawing so it is more of an impersonal act? If someone could get back to me with the answer to that that would be great. I realise that narrowing down ‘Art’ to just writing and paintings, sculptures etc is a bit silly, but I think that they represent each end of the spectrum.

I think this is quite an interesting thing to think about. I would like to continue but it’s making my head hurt and I’m not sure how much sense I’m making. I suspect it’s very little (i.e. the standard amount of sense).

This blog is quite long compared to the average one, but I don’t feel like it’s finished yet so I’m going to keep writing.

Hmmm… I need to write about something less complicate because my head hurts… Hmmm….

Tricky.

I like cats…

Too simple…

Plus cats are ok but I wouldn’t class myself as a cat lover and I think that anyone who says “I like cats.” To me instantly goes into the place occupied by people who like animals more than people. That’s not a place I want to go to… That’s presuming that the people reading this have a similar section in their heads… Which I doubt… So it’s a moot point really…

I don’t think that I’m ever going to make sense again… Did I ever make sense? Not really. So I should rewrite that…

I don’t think that I’m ever going to make sense. There that’s better…

Less typing for me now…
