My faith in humanity…
December 15th, 2007 by adminA couple of days ago I was having a really terrible day and I was pissed at a lot of people…
I decided that some computer violence was the answer to my problem so I started to play a war game… It’s an online FPS and is lots of fun… If the people you are playing with are nice people… Quite often in online games they just aren’t as fun as they could be because of the other people playing… My clash with one of these people was as followed:
I jumped into the team’s helicopter, the helicopter makes killing the enemy quite easy and about 10 people are normally trying to use it and it’s a two man chopper. So I was pretty lucky to get in as soon as I joined the game… Until someone came along with an anti-tank rocket and shot down the heli. This unfortunately happens quite often but I was in no mood for people like that. I spawned at the camp with my shotgun (I’m quite handy with a shotgun)and I shot the guy who shot me… It felt really good!!! it felt so good that I decided that I’d shoot him again when he re-spawned at the heli pad but someone else had beaten me to it… Turns out that he’d been killing his team mates long before I’d arrived and someone else had been inspired by my death related vengeance. It wasn’t long before the entire team was competing for who got to kill him each time… It was the most fun I’d had in ages… We practically stopped trying to kill the enemy and focussed solely releasing our anger… After about 10 minutes and about 25 kills the guy manages to get into the chopper and we’re about to shoot him down in the same manner that he had shot many of us down when we heard “Don’t shoot!” go out over the team radio… This gives the guy who was flying the chopper (the guy we had been killing was in the gunner’s seat) enough time to plow the heli into the a building. The next thing we hear over the radio is from the same person who had said “Don’t shoot” but this time he exclaimed “Got him!”. After that the guy we had been killing left the game realising that he probably wouldn’t be able to do much apart from die. It was the most relaxing and soul southing thing that I’ve ever done…
My faith in humanity was restored after that…
